About Kambo
Kambo is an amphibious secretion rendered from the hylid frog: Phyllomedusa Bicolor, also known as the “Giant Monkey Frog” or “Waxy-Monkey Tree Frog”
Kambo contains 15 plus bioactive and neuroactive peptides with more currently being discovered. Peptides are short chains of amino acid monomers linked by peptide (amide) bonds. They are chemical messengers that are crucial to physiological functions from directing hormone release and metabolic regulation to stimulating immune response and everything in between. Found in the depths of the Amazon, tribes have been utilizing this frog’s secretion ceremoniously for centuries to treat a variety of psychological, physiological, and spiritual ailments with the purpose of boosting the optimal functioning of the body’s systems. Consider it a “Hard Reboot” of the body and mind.
Kambo is not a psychedelic and is legal in the United States. It is often confused with “Bufo”, a 5-MeO-DMT based secretion milked from the Sonoran Desert toad. The Kambo we use at Colorado Kambo Clinic is harvested ethically by the Cocama and Matsés tribes. These tribes undertake gentle practices to reduce harm in obtaining the secretion from the Frog.
